What it looks like

You don't need to identify the species. A rough description does the job: small and black, reddish brown, a web-building spider versus a fast-moving one, droppings versus scratching sounds versus an actual sighting. Even a photo on your phone, if you're comfortable getting close enough to take one, helps a lot.

How long it's been going on

A single sighting last week is a different situation than something you've been noticing on and off for a couple of months. If it's been building gradually, or if it seemed to show up all at once after a specific event like a storm or new landscaping work, that's worth mentioning too.

Inside, outside, or both

Are you only seeing it indoors, only outdoors, or both? This changes how a treatment gets scoped from the start, since interior and exterior work address different things.
